South Hayward Parishis an ecumenical organization of churches in the greater South Hayward area. SHP assists local residents in issues involving renters' rights, food distribution, human rights advocacy, and combined seasonal worship, service and fellowship.

The congregations: Congregation Shir Ami, Good Shepherd Lutheran, New Bridges Presbyterian, South Hayward UMC, Starr King Unitarian Universalist, and United Church of Hayward.

South Hayward Parish also offers the faith community opportunities for witness and advocacy in the areas of gay rights, peace vigils, vigils of caring for local victims of violence, immigrants' and workers' rights, and joint Thanksgiving services and Easter Sunrise services.

SHP is home to two programs: Hayward CAN, and SHP Food Pantry. Hayward CAN works to develop sustainable solutions to end homelessness in Hayward, through collaboration with individuals living on the street as well as those in faith, business, law enforcement, government, and social service communities. SHP Food Pantry serves an average of 1,390 individuals each month, for a total of 12,546 meals. Non-perishable foods are in steady demand, and are collected in the large basket of our sanctuary the 1st Sunday of each month. SHP's weekly food pantry distribution program provides boxes of groceries to needy families.
